U.S. Embassy in Qatar Lifts Shelter-in-Place Advisory Following Al-Udeid Air Base Attack

The United States Embassy in Qatar has officially lifted its shelter-in-place advisory for American citizens in the country, following a recent attack on Al-Udeid Air Base by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

The directive, which was issued earlier today as a precautionary measure amid heightened regional tensions, has now been rescinded, signaling a return to normal activities for the embassy and its personnel.

In an official statement posted on its website late Monday evening, the embassy announced: “The U.S. Embassy has lifted the shelter-in-place order that was in effect on June 23. 

“The Embassy will reopen tomorrow, and consular services will continue without interruption.

“Please note that Qatari airspace remains closed. Individuals with travel plans should closely monitor their flight status with their airlines and continue to follow updates from the Government of Qatar and local news regarding the airspace situation.

“The U.S. Embassy in Doha urges U.S. citizens to exercise caution, review security plans, and stay alert in case of future attacks.”
