NAFDAC Warns Business Owners to Adhere to Standards or Face Penalties

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has called on business owners in the South-West region to comply strictly with regulatory standards to avoid severe consequences.
Speaking at a one-day awareness workshop in Abeokuta on Thursday, Mrs. Roseline Ajayi, NAFDAC’s South-West Zonal Director, emphasized the agency’s commitment to enforcing compliance.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the event was attended by water producers, master bakers, quick service restaurant operators, and patent medicine vendors, all urged to uphold best practices in their operations.
Also in attendance were members of the Association of Pharmaceutical Products Marketers of Nigeria (APPMAN) and the National Agro Inputs Dealers Association (NAIDA).
No fewer than 900 participants took part in the NAFDAC training session.
Ajayi urged producers, particularly in Ogun, to embrace Good Hygiene Practice (GHP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and other sector-relevant operational standards.
She said compliance would ensure quality, safety, and wholesomeness of regulated products made available to Nigerian citizens.
Ajayi noted that the Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, is aware of current economic challenges.
She added that several interventions had been introduced to promote ease of doing business in the regulated products sub-sector.
