The request of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a state of emergency in Rivers State has been approved by the House of Representatives with an amendment. 

The lawmakers ruled that the emergency can be reviewed at any time, rather than adhering strictly to the six-month timeline.

The amendment was proposed by Minority Whip Ali Isa JC to ensure a more flexible approach to handling the situation.
