Benue Assembly Calls for Release of Protesters Arrested Over Yelewata Killings

The Benue State House of Assembly has called for the release of 14 individuals arrested by the police during a protest on Sunday in Yelewata, Guma Local Government Area. 

The protesters were reportedly demonstrating against the recent spate of killings in the area, which has left several residents dead and many others displaced.

During its plenary session on Tuesday, the House also called for the protection of vulnerable communities in Benue State.
