The Kano State Government has denounced the tragic killing of at least 16 travellers in Uromi, Edo State, calling for swift action against those responsible.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Waiya, expressed deep sorrow over the incident, describing it as a cruel and unacceptable act.
He emphasized the need for security agencies and the judiciary to take decisive steps to ensure justice is served and prevent such attacks in the future.
The victims, predominantly hunters from Rivers State, were ambushed by a vigilante group and armed youths while travelling to Kano to celebrate Sallah with their families.

The Kano State government reaffirmed its commitment to supporting efforts to strengthen the nation’s security framework, including better equipment for the police forces and access to justice and redress.
