Lagos Speaker Left Unprotected as Security Details Are Withdrawn

Security personnel assigned to Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly, Mrs. Mojisola Meranda, have been withdrawn.

Special Adviser on Media to the Speaker, Mr Victor Ganzalo, disclosed this in a short statement issued to House of Assembly correspondents in Ikeja.

“All police escorts guarding the Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda and those guarding the Lagos House of Assembly have been withdrawn,” he said. 

Ganzalo stated that the withdrawal of security personnel had left the Assembly exposed and vulnerable.

Describing the situation as unfortunate, the media aide called it an attack on democracy.
