FG Sets 16 as Minimum Age for Admission into Tertiary Institutions

The Federal Government has established 16 as the minimum age for entry into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, during the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Policy Meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.
Dr. Alausa emphasized that this age limit is mandatory and must be strictly enforced by all tertiary institutions.
He further warned that any admissions conducted outside the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) will be considered illegal, urging institutions to comply with the directive.
