Labour Party Chieftain Questions Obi’s Single-Term Pledge

A prominent Labour Party (LP) figure, Abayomi Arabambi, has cast doubt on Peter Obi’s promise to serve only one term if elected president, urging Nigerians to be skeptical of the former Anambra governor’s commitment.
Speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Tuesday, Arabambi argued that Obi’s pledge lacks credibility, pointing to his past defection from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), under which he was elected Anambra governor, as evidence of unfulfilled promises.
“So, we are not going to trust him,” Arabami said on the show about Obi’s proposal of a single term.
“So, Peter Obi cannot be telling Nigerians, ‘Oh don’t worry, I will do a single term’ when he said with his own mouth, he said he would stay in APGA; he is not going to leave,” the factional national publicity secretary of the LP said.
