History was made in the city of Osogbo, the Osun State capital, as students—mainly from Osun State University—and residents came out voluntarily on May 9, 2025, to donate blood.
Following an intense awareness campaign and vigorous social media engagement by the organisers, Freedom Park Garden, the event venue, was filled with students from various institutions across the state.
Many residents paused their daily activities to support the movement and contribute to the ambitious goal of reaching 1,000 blood donors.
Various ministries of the Osun State Government also showed their support by sending representatives, who reiterated the commitment of the Governor Ademola Adeleke-led administration to building a healthier state.
Security agencies were present to maintain order and express solidarity, ensuring safety throughout the event.
Beyond the noble cause, the atmosphere was lively—donors and volunteers enjoyed good music, engaging games, and refreshments.
Osun Donates was more than a campaign; it was a heartfelt demonstration of love, willingness, and a shared commitment to giving life to those fighting for survival.
