Qatar Condemns Iranian Attack on Al-Udeid Air Base

Qatar has strongly condemned an attack by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard targeting Al-Udeid Air Base, labeling it a “flagrant violation” of Qatar’s sovereignty, airspace, international law, and the UN Charter.
Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Qatar reserves the right to respond directly to this “brazen aggression” in accordance with international law.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr. Al Ansari confirmed that Qatar’s air defenses successfully intercepted the Iranian missiles, thwarting the attack.
He noted that the base had been evacuated prior to the strike due to heightened regional tensions, ensuring the safety of Qatari Armed Forces, allied personnel, and others, with no injuries or casualties reported.
He warned that such escalatory actions threaten regional stability and could lead to catastrophic consequences for global peace.
He urged an immediate halt to military actions and a return to dialogue, reiterating Qatar’s longstanding advocacy for diplomatic solutions and good-neighborly relations to resolve regional crises.
The attack comes amid escalating tensions in the region, with Qatar previously cautioning against Israeli actions that could fuel further conflict.
Dr. Al Ansari reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to negotiation as the only path to ensure security and peace for the region’s people.
