Kano Government Promises Early Payment of March Salaries

The Kano State Government has pledged to ensure early payment of March salaries for civil servants across the state.
This assurance was conveyed in a statement issued on Wednesday by Musa Tanko, the Chief Information Officer in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
He quoted the Chairman of the Payroll Standing Committee, Alhaji Auwalu Sanda, saying that the government had verified nearly 90 per cent of the state’s workforce.
He said payment process would be completed by March 26.
“This commitment is part of the government’s efforts to prioritise workers’ welfare and ensure timely payment of salaries.
Sanda, praised the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) for their cooperation, which ensured a smooth and efficient process.
He addressed concerns about salary deductions, stating that only a few complaints were received.
The chairman explained that most issues were due to the loans taken by employees from vendors or financial institutions, resulting in automatic deductions.
Sanda assured that all cases were thoroughly reviewed, with payment vouchers sent to the respective MDAs for verification before approval.
“We don’t expect major complaints due to our rigorous validation process. Any issues will likely be between civil servants and their financial institutions or system errors,” he said.
Sanda urged the public, especially civil servants, to appreciate Gov. Abba Yusuf’s commitment to timely salary payments.
He reiterated the governor’s dedication to workers’ financial well-being and preventing payment delays.
Sanda called on the people of Kano to pray for the administration’s success and the state’s continued peace and prosperity during the holy month.
