Take-It-Back Protest: Rivers Police Fire Teargas at Protesters

On Monday morning, police operatives in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, dispersed protesters from the Take-It-Back Movement by firing teargas canisters.
The protest, held at Isaac Boro Park, drew supporters including members of Civil Society Organisations and the Niger Delta Congress, who had gathered to voice their demands.
However, their demonstration was swiftly interrupted as security forces moved in to break up the crowd using teargas.
According to a report by The Nation Nigeria, police officers initially asked the protesters to disperse peacefully, but when the crowd refused to leave, they resorted to using minimal force.
Undeterred, the demonstrators began chanting solidarity songs and marched from Isaac Boro Park onto the busy Aba Express Road. Their procession was halted at the CFC junction, where police again ordered them off the street.
When the protesters stood their ground, security operatives responded by firing additional rounds of teargas, eventually forcing the crowd to scatter.
